Doesn't Matter if Your ....

Black or White...or does it? (like my Michael Jackson reference there?) =)

Well its the truth!

To some, I guess it matters. I laid in bed last night and as always watch AC 360 on CNN. They were discussing (um bashing) a woman (white) whose home had been broken into while she was at home. She called 9-1-1 and the police came. The man was caught, he was a Black man.

The media in the past 3-4 days has been all over her white arse because the burgular said "its because I'm Black". OMG! Are you serious buddy? No its not because your Black, its because you were in her home uninvited!

They played the 9-1-1 call and when she described him.....she never said his skin color, she gave his heigth, build and what clothing color he was wearing....not once was his color a factor.

It doesn't matter, he was a thief! White or Black! Doesn't matter, white people steal too.

Rev. Al Sharptin (sp? Mr. Blabbermouth) was on there, going on and on about racial rights and Black peoples rights. I am sick and tired of people playing the "Black Card" or the "Minority Card", we are suppose to be a democratic society where we vote and its all fair, but my goodness, it sure the hell isn't. Where the minority rules and burgulars have rights? What? How?

Then they moved to Texas where white supremist and black supremist are fighting and its just a big mess.

I litterally was pissed off while trying to go to sleep.....

Seriously people......move the hell on, they are PEOPLE. I said to my husband, who the hell came up with the idea in the 1600's to take Black people and say "you are my slave"? What the hell is up with that? Oh because the "white man" was educated? Apparently NOT! How many of those old sick white bastards had illigitimate children with those Black women? Wow! You didn't hate the Black women so much now didja?

I think its disgusting that this day in age, here we sit with KKK and Nazi this and Black people that.

I'm sure Jesus is up there shaking his head saying "OMG! What the hell is wrong with these people dad, they are all dumb asses"....

Yep that's what he's sayin'

Common Sense isn't all that Common anymore...

I am listening to the local news and they are reporting on the new government laws that are being put in place for all team sport coaches, schools, any facility carrying children in a passenger van.

I am sitting here rolling my eyes.......why you ask? I was a teen who played high school sports whom travelled in a passenger van, in poor weather no less. Why? Because the 2 coaches of each team decided to run the game regardless of weather. Smart eh?

That is the problem here, yes it also counts that the coaches who are running 15 passenger vans are licensed and capable of driving a larger vehicle with about 12 of our valuable children on board but really the major factor lies on the coaches who have no common sense running our children on the icy roads, just to play a game.....a "game" that is what they call it, no less the verb ahead of it is "play".

Check the weather reports, my favourites list on my internet has about 8 different weather sites with radar loops and all. 2 hours before leaving you can't be watching that?

I feel terrible those children lost their lives at Bathurst High School. I cannot say it was due to the coaches driving or the road conditions but I will say that poor coach will have to live with this tragedy the rest of his life and that is not worth it. Not one bit, he lost his wife's life and many mothers no longer have sons. I bet he is regretting the decision to drive back to Bathurst on that one fateful night.

As a coach "YOU" are responsible for those children. YOU make the final deciscions on what is best for everyone. YOU decide. Not their parents. YOU must make those children's lives your top priority. Although playing the game is fun and important to standings losing childrens lives is not.

Volunteer coaches are invaluable to our children's skill building but those volunteers also have to take full responsibility of everyone involved when making decisions for the team. Lives matter, keep our children safe.

July 28, 1990

Was the day I lost my cousin to drunk driving.

Today is a sad day, a day I will never forget, the morning I received the call I will never erase from my memory.

A call from my boyfriend George telling me that his best friend whom only 5 hours before dropped me off at my house and was dead.

Billy died on this date in the wee hours of the morning. He'd been clean of any narcotics for 3 months (and very proud of that) at the party met up with an old buddy Ozzy.....who of course couldn't do anything by himself.....he kept going on and on to Billy, come on do a hit, do it buddy, come on just this one more time....for old time sake.......

One more time was all that was needed. Billy was 17, graduating that next year, he was headed into grade 12 in September. He was going to trade school the next year...I think he was going to take electrical?

Come to find out Billy gave into Ozzy's plea's to indulge one last time in the drugs, little did we know it was alcohol too. He was messed up. We had no idea......but we knew Ozzy wasn't the best influence on anyone.

So Billy came over to George and I and said he wanted to leave, big pit party out in Dorn Ridge Pits.....I said "you know what, can you just drop me off at home I think its time for me to get out of here?", Billy said "sure hun".....George also was getting dropped off. If I wasn't going then neither was he. What a FAB choice he made that night.

After Billy & Ozzy (the sidekick) dropped us off away they went......almost to the party Billy lost control, hit the culvert (sp?) and he and his "newly souped up" blue camero flew through the air - many feet in the air. Billy had his seatbelt on and the camero caught fire, he burned up with his car.

Ozzy on the other hand flew out the window and walked away without a scratch.

The funeral was 3 days later. The song they played at the funeral was Slaughter - Fly to the Angels. I played that song for days and days after......apparently that song was playing when he died (I don't know that for a fact but I'd like to think it was true). Slaughter was his fav band that summer.....

Every year on this date I can't help but think about that night, how it might have been different had we not gone to the party, partied on our own like we did most of the time, never met up with Ozzy, what if George and I had gone to that damn party too?

On this day I am thinking about my friend and cousin Billy {RIP}. Sadly missed but never forgotten.

This is why you don't do drugs or drink and drive - ever - period - not even 1 drink. This is exactly why? You'll lose control, hit a culvert and die!

U wanted proof? Its in the Puddin'

Here I sit at my computer fuming to high heaven, looking at the Atavan on my desk wondering do I really need it? Its only for flying, don't do it!

Well I'm sure you all thought it was funny when I named my blog this but lets put it to the test.....read back, just see how Murphy is has lost this fight.....and oh lets talk about my newest Murphy-esque adventure.

Tball is suppose to be right now as we speak! But there is a tournament that because they drink so much on Saturday's they didn't get started until 10:30, who starts a tourney at 10:30? Really come on.....lord help me.

So I went over and I let them know my perdicament. They said they'd try.....uh huh...lord help me to stay calm.....because its men they think they are the only ones who exsist in this world....really please....I've got little kids.....

So the field coordinator calls me late this morning to say he's been over and it will be 6 before they can be done....ok fine.

I leave a voicemail for parents letting them know do not come before 6:30.

Well I was just over there, the field is mud bog and everyone is sloppin drunk. They say well the last game just started and it will be an hour and half. (stay calm, stay calm)...I say well alright....we'll come over and hope for the best......

He says yeah whatever! Someone else told them they could have the field til 7pm, not the coordinator......but whatever...they don't care anyway....

Here I sit looking at my atavan!

Eeee-Di-otZ

I just received an e-mail from daughters Celtic Camp teacher....I have no idea how I find these people but I swear to god I'm like a heat seeking missile for idiots. I'm drawn to them.

Back in May we signed her up for camp the end of August. As we do for all summer camp programs.

The message I received was: we did not have enough kids sign up, they can come the week before with all the older kids - sorry - we'll give you your money back.

Well isn't that a fine how do you do? Because everything was planned back in May, nothing is left. Why would there be? I mean really. It isn't the part that is truely does matter if she goes to camp, its the part that they just change things without really thinking through how this is going to mess someone's life up. Oh well whatever!

One other parent e-mailed me back to say she is screwed for child care that week now because of this. I told her my old standard was Kingswood - they are great. So she is going to try that.

What a PITA.....this isn't the first time something like this has gone on either.....all last year my daughters Irish Dance Lesson was at 4:00 Mondays......um yeah I work til 4:30. But only a few of us mom's work as I can see. Or dad is a professor. I guess Irish Dance is for the rich group where only one parent has to work.....good grief.....

I worked every Monday through my lunch to leave early to get her to class...as did 3 other mom's who like me were not happy with the time.

Pin a Medal on my chest and call me Ralph

One week of vacation down and we've only had one day of fun. But its worth it. The amount of work we've accomplished is amazing......the weather has cooperated and our time has been spent doing what needs to get done.

If you think poor us...we did go to Disney in April.

So the hard work is worth it. Although the money we've donated to Home Depot is crazy but I must say their Behr paint is as good as everyone says it is. The Glidden ceiling paint, great. I hardly got any on me.

I'm off to Tball now. I hope to enjoy my new gazebo when I return.....toodles all

Its Official...I am truely a B*TCH

Who would have thunk it? I know I knew it, I've been teasingly called one but when a perfect stranger calls you one......it really warms your heart to the core.

Saturday night while camping we headed up to Choclate Bar Bingo, there were 3 adults and 5 kids. Me and 3 kids went to go find a spot to sit while the others stood in line with our choclate bars to get game sheets and daubbers.

Well.....we found a spot next to another mom who was saving seats and I said "how about here" can we have these spots and she said yep thats great I said thanks a lot....

I said to Sam "put your leg up and I'll put mine up and we'll save the seats for everyone else (we had the other side too).

So this guy comes by with his 3 year old son and says "I was sitting here earlier". I said "um ok" and turned away.

He says "well be bitch"...just like that "well be a bitch"....

I figured I had one of 2 options here

1) stand up and get on my knees and said yes master anything for you oh great penis lover - you big strong man

2) or tell him to stick it up his ass

Which did I choose...you guessed it.

I turned around and said "wow your some family man teaching your boy right arent' ya buddy"

He sat down at the completely empty picnic table behind me.....him and all his friends I guess?

So hubby came and I told him, hubby says "big man talking to a lady like that"

Buddy didnt turn around...

I said (as I was leaning back) "yep he's a big man, I bet he feels so much better now making himself all big and manly talking to a woman like that big man ain't ya"

He didn't turn around

As Chocolate Bar Bingo was ending......I turned around to see he was sitting by himself and just had to say "wow, buddy you sat with all your friends, even your kid left ya...nice your such a winenr".

(his kid left to play on the playground)

When Bingo ended he left so fast.....ya you'd better a-hole before I go all Z-aneezz on yo' a$$

I was pissed. You bastard to say that to a perfect stranger......the woman across from me - the mom said "you don't talk to a lady like that you idiot get a life". Her husband said "I'd better not hear him say a damn thing or he's gonna get it".

Yep the table was pretty pissed at mr pissant! ha! jerk!

I've never seen anyone climb over picnic tables faster to get out...he made a huge mistake.

So if the idiot had left something on the bench don't you think I would have moved on? Well yes but its a free country and I asked the lady across if anyone else was there and she said "nope not now"....um yeah find another spot big man....

boy is his son gonna be a woman beater......nice.

A New Day

Another day has begun. Its a countdown to summer in my eyes.....only a few more days before I an have vacation time.

I hear Mother Nature wants to give us some reprieve in this rain later on this week. I am thankful for that. I will keep my fingers crossed until then.

Have a great week and keep warm and dry.

Intervention

Tell me what would you do if you were put into this type of situation....

I know someone who is close to me but not family who I have felt has had a drinking problem for some time now. This person talks about drinking all the time, is drinking all the time and isn't in a good mood unless they are drinking.

It was funny in the first term but in the past year the signs are very hard to ignore. I know this person has been drinking and driving - I have witnessed it. I also know that I will feel terribly guilty if they hurt themselves or heaven forbid someone else.

What you all need to know is I am dead set against any drinking and driving whatsoever. I came very close to being involved in a scene where my cousin died and the memory of this has never left me. Every July 28th I recall that night that I refused to go to that 2nd party with him, my boyfriend and I went home - he drove us home, while he and his buddy headed to the other party - they didn't make it, the car crashed and my cousin died a horrible death. My boyfriend called me the next morning, we were the last people to see him alive. Since that fateful day I refuse to have one drink and drive ever.

Back to this person I know.....this person called me at 1;30 am last night to tell me they hit a deer and were very drunk and it was totally confidential information they were giving me but again said they were very drunk, I said ok in my stuper and never slept the rest of the night.

Why do people think they are invinceable? What if you killed someone after only having a beer on the way home, one beer can impare some people. Why take the chance of having to live through something like this every single of day of life?

I don't understand it and I want to talk to this person, but now is not the time and I can imagine them becoming very hostile. When is a good time to chat about how much they seem to be drinking? I know this person will be very mad if I attempt this at all but nobody else seems to be saying anything? Do I ignore it and watch until something worse happens and I can say "oh I knew but chose to not get them mad at me?".

I have my own family members who drink and drive and they know I'm serious about it. My own brother has been caught many times and our last conversation was "if you killed my kid I'd stalk you and kill you with my own bare hands". Since then (7 years ago) he has never drove drunk.

Drinking and Driving kills. Remember that. Its not a risk I am willing to take. Ever!

RIP Billy
