Meet the Fam

Introducing our newest additions to the family.....

Black Albert & Kitty

Black Albert is a Black Moors and Kitty is a Calico Fintail so hence the name kitty.....

Both are doing well and Henderson likes to watch them while laying on B's bed, I swear he has a little smile on his lips as he watches them, no licking of the lips - yet!

Crazy People

I just got back from lunch and it began like this...

I ran over to the bank, I was there the other day but couldn't find a parking spot so I left. So I went today and found a spot I could "pull through" to the other spot "hot dog" I thought, in the vehicle beside me were 2 children roughly ages 2 and 5 (2 boys), all windows were down and no mom anywhere, so I sat there for like 5 minutes while the oldest boy who could unstrap himself from his car seat tormented his brother or the other boy (no idea if related or not). I decided I'd run into the bank, as I got up to the teller I mentioned it to her and she didn't seem to concerned, I was in there for 5 minutes.

I came back out and the oldest boy has a chunk of wood that he is swinging around, now keep in mind I am parked beside them, I could have reached out and nabbed the peice of wood from him (I wanted to but didn't). So I sat there for 10 more minutes waiting for someone to to come to them. I debated on whether I should have called 9-1-1, is it illegal to leave kids in the car?

I think it is? So I sat there a total of 20 minutes and they were there before me!

So I left, I called a co-worker and she said you should have called! For the love of...so I went to do my last errand and came back 15 minutes later and they were gone, I was going to block the vehicle in and call but they were gone.

Should I have called 9-1-1? Is it illegal to leave children unattended? It was a hot day, all the windows were down? I just don't know, but I do know its wrong!

You got me a what?

Friday was the last day of school and report card day!

I don't know about you but when I was a kid I always received a "grading gift", it would be a new pool or tent or bike, something big.

And of course there would be no exception for my child, she would indeed receive a grading gift.

So we decided to get her a fish tank. She's been begging for a fish tank for 2 years and we decided now was a good time.

So last week I bought the 5 Gallon Starter Kit and wrapped it up and after our celebration dinner on Friday night we gave it to her and of course momma has the camera ready and I'm recording the big reveal.

She opens the paper up and looks at the box, opens the box up to make sure what is in side is what the box says, screws her face up (like I do) and looks right at us and says "why'd you get me a fish tank, I don't have any fish"? Just as baffled as can be.

We start to laugh and so she asks the same question again.....for god sakes child, really?

Hubby says "ya think you might get some fish to put into the tank now"?

All of the sudden she "registers" as to what we've done and starts to jump up and down and totally freak out and hug and kiss us.

I expected the hugs and kisses right away, an explanation on a fish and its tank I did not!

Good Grief!

Can I go now, can i?

I know I just came off one weeks vacation in Toronto but really come on? That wasn't really a vacation, was it?

Summer cannot get her fast enough since school ended on Friday, I am ready to spend a few weeks at home, take a day trip or two, clean up the house from those pesky dust mites and have afternoon naps.

I wanted to stay in bed this morning and I did for an extra 15 minutes but it just isn't the same.

With busy fun-filled weekends and busy week nights who has time to take a break?

Come 9pm I'm in layin' my butt down...........I have a feeling the summer is going to fly by and I'm going to miss it.

Heart Broken

Watching the news just now has left me shocked and hurt.

The child (age 12) in Nova Scotia who was lost and found dead in February found her own mother charged of Carissa’s death. People came out to boo her when she left court today. I’m shocked, I remember watching the mothers heart felt “come back to me” speech. That mother may have killed her very own child and all the while trying to cover it up? So what may have happened? Is there any reason a mother would kill her own child? I can’t think of any. How could she “possibly” do such a horrific thing to her very own flesh and blood?

Then the next item was about the Bathurst High School boys that died in that terrible bus crash back in March, the seniors’ families received honory diploma’s for them last evening. Members of “Stomp” traveled from New York in order to help the kids show their feelings through the stage. Ken Dryden spoke to the crowd, other kids from the school were handed scholarships.

Every time I think of those people and kids up there I well up, I can’t talk, Lee asked me a question and I couldn’t answer, my heart hurts each and every time someone discusses it.

I sometimes wonder what kind of world this really is? How much do we really grasp of the horrid things that go on? I know you’ll say don’t focus on the bad, see the good, but there are times its hard to see the good, its so few and far between.

Home Coming

The countdown is on baby.......comin' home to my own bed, my own pillow, my own bathroom, my own tv, my own life.

Don't get me wrong I had a great time but in the end I am looking forward to arriving in good ol' TC.

My bro and his GF were lovely hosts but ya know he's my bro and for a lot of things we are to much alike, even though he and I are 12 years apart and he hasn't lived in NB for 20 years we still have some of the same mannerisms, how is that really?

Luckily I did not get the "hoarding" gene as bad from my mothers side as he did, OMG! I almost freaked out over all the items he hoards, L & I have spent the week here and there helping him out and when he wasn't looking or after much deliberation he agreed to throw it out. NOW I know some of you might be saying "what the hell, M your like that too!!" BUT if you go back and read I said "as bad" and boy do I mean it. We've got him ship shape, unfortunately I wasn't able to talk him into letting me clean the fridge. :o)

Its been so much fun and I'm reallly glad L agreed to do this, he had a blast and really enjoyed himself.

Bye for now

No Spring Chicky

yesterday was quite a day, after the game we decided to head over to the Eaton's Centre, since we weren't going to walk the 6 blocks we had to take the subway, Lee was a little nervous but we did it.....it was only 2 stops then we got off, the Bay was 6 floors, crazy. Lee and Karl went out onto Younge St to take a look, well actually it was nothing for Karl.

As we were headed back to the subway the doors were locked and a fella was at one making people leave, they closed down the entire subway system, we still have no idea why so we HAD to walk the 6 blocks back to the Rogers Centre where we parked and walking back is no easy task, at rush hour traffic. It was crazy, bums were bumming for money, women in stiletto's walking the streets. FYI - women here will dress to the 9's to go to the grocery store, its all about the shoes and purses here, the shoes are wild!

On our way back we stopped so B could get ice cream and there it was "so you think you can dance - Canada", they were filming people who won gold tickets! So watch in September for B, L, & I, all 3 that were filmed ran toward us.

Back to the subway, at Union Station the police, ambulances, all emergency crews, so something big happened on the subway.

Crazy drivers up here. Thats all I have to say about that ;o)

So last night I hooked up with my good friend Lisa who lives 20 mins away from here, we went out for Mediterrian Food (J you would have been in heaven), I had so much fun....she always makes me laugh and some other time I'll blog about having to have a bidet!

LUSH-icious

OMG! I've experienced the Lush store in person today! It was amazing, I spent 50 minutes in the store while the staff escorted us around and having us sample the soaps and washes.....even Lee bought a hair growth promoter shampoo bar, 2 to be exact, B bought bath bombs, she and I are going to have a big jet spa bath this evening, how much fun will it be?

My bro has a great big 2 person jet spa tub, garden tup to be exact, its Lush-icious too.

My calf muscles are going to need it after all that shopping today......I'm lovin' it.

I had freshly squeezed juice today, you could mix and match so I chose Lemon & Cherry, it was very good.

Hemroids no more

The New Club Drug: Preparation H?
Foxnews - June 3, 2008

The hottest club drug appears to be one normally used to fix a "burning" problem.
Preparation H, the topical medication used to treat hemorrhoids, reportedly is catching fire as the latest "drug" to hit the New York City club scene.

The topical solution contains a medication called phenylephrine HCL, which shrinks the swollen tissues of hemorrhoids. It works by constricting the nearby blood vessels that surround the area. But the ingredient will shrink other tissue as well.

The method has been hailed on the Internet and has long been used by body builders in need of a quick fix for a problem area prior to competition, as well as women looking to reduce puffiness around their eyes.

But one doctor said the off-label usage of the drug is ludicrous.

"It doesn't even work that well for hemorrhoids," said Dr. Marc Siegel, a FOX News medical contributor. "I find in my practice it has to be combined with hydrocortisone. The notion of phenylephrine is problematic at best. It's a placebo effect."

Siegel told FOXNews.com that the drug can cause uncomfortable side effects such as rashes, as well as more serious side effects such as elevated blood pressure..

New York bouncer, blogger and author Rob Fitzgerald told ABCNews.com that men are slathering up their torsos with the hemorrhoid cream to make themselves look "ripped."

Fitzgerald, who writes the blog Clublife, recently conducted his own research on the phenomenon, interviewing a user, a drugstore worker and a nightclub manager.
