Today was the beginning of truffle making in our house.......who would have thought those tiny bundles of chocolate love could be so darn time consuming and frustrating? Well those of us who have made them with children can relate!
My kid was bound and determind she was going to help out........I gave in and said "sure"......that was my first mistake.
I'm tired, with a slight hang over from last nights party.
Let the Christmas games begin.

and it begins
Merry Festivfus to all and to all a good nite.....
December 1 is in 2 more days, that means the parties, the candy, the chocolates, the presents......who can stand it any longer? Who is just waiting in angst to have the big guy in the red suit come to visit?
ME!
Oh My! I still have items to get, this waiting for paydays to spend money sucks......I still haven't had those people who offered to wrap my gifts come? Whats up with that, I bought the booze, the chocolates and I have music ready and tape in the dipsenser, whats wrong with you people?
You promised! Oh well, I guess at some point I'll have to bite the bullet and do it on my own without any help! I buy them, wrap them and deliver them, when did I become the grown up here?
I much prefer to be a kid at Christmas, then you get all the perks and no downside to having to work. Jeepers!
Merry Holimas!

Shopping
I just got back from the mall over my lunch hour, I took a later lunch in the hopes the crowd would thin down some...ha! What a stupid thought that was.....
Crazy people.
The lady in front of me, I think she was doing all of her shopping in one shot, she had 2 carts that were full, she spent $600 in that one stop. Wowsers!
I just don't have that Christmas spirit yet...does anyone know where I should look?

I'd love.....
to have a whole day home (during the week) where I can stay home, drink my coffee, wrap some gifts, trim the house, do some scrapbooking ......BUT that doesn't happen....why you ask?
Because I'm one of those freaks!
Let me explain...I cannot stay home unless I take a vacation day to which I have very few at this point to take (need to keep them for Christmas), and I will not take a sick day unless I haven't slept or am throwing up.
I know I'm a freak, you don't have to say it........
I'll be home if DD needs me but other than that I don't like to miss time at work, also because I know what kind of work load I have to go back to, its worth going to work rather than sitting home.
So I wish I could take a day off and get work done but I sit here on the computer because my lazy ass can't stand to look at the pile of gifts that need to be wrapped, the house that needs to be cleaned from top to bottom, the trimming that has to go up, the baking I want to do and everything else that requires my attention..
*sigh* I think I'd rather be at work......

What the? huh?
How is it when Christmas rolls around you buy, buy, buy for everyone and then all of the sudden your MIL says will you make a list of items you'd like for Christmas and you say "well there isn't anything I can think of right now".
I just made a list of 20 items! My gawd!
To top it all off, who of you out there while buying gifts for other people pop little trinkets in the cart for yours truely? come on be honest? you do don't you?
My mom always did that and she always bought to her from her gifts as well, (From Santa I mean - ooops). To be perfectly honest if she hadn't she wouldn't have had as much to open, looking back on that I just realized that was why.....ok downer - sorry folks.
What is the most recent item you have bought yourself that you are keeping for Christmas and wrapping up or handed DH a bag to say here add this under the tree? Or what are you planning to buy?
Mine was.......my purchase from yesterday at Nick's scrapbook store, I bought some brads and stuff so DH can add them to my sock. My sock is my favourite thing to open so I want it to be smokin' hot with lots of goodies.

Yes Viriginia there really is a Santa Claus
The other night as DD and I were cuddling and enjoying our treat after bath time she looks at me says:
B: Mama?
M: yes?
B: Is Santa dead?
M: no, why do you think that?
B: Well.......Joe (not real name) told me at school today that Santa is dead and has been for 150 years, but how can that be when he brought me stuff last year and signed his name to the tag?"
M: Well B do you really believe what Joe said?
B: Well no because it doesn't make sense mama
M: So long as you believe in Santa then to you he is real
B: Mom
M: hmmm
B: do you believe in Santa?
M: I sure do, if I didn't he wouldn't come and leave little gifts for me or daddy, just you?
B: good I'm glad you believe in Santa like I do mom

M: yes?

The end of something good
Yesterday my good friend Nicole announced she is closing down her scrapbook store, this store holds a lot of memories for me and many other women in the local area......
You could go up there on your lunch and find Nick waiting for you, have a good chat, a great laugh and go back to work feeling refreshed.
Running into friends you haven't seen in a few weeks, having a little catch up with them or hearing Nick had a BIG, Gigantico sale on and everyone must come running this very minute before stock runs out....really she did that all the time and got me hook, line and sinker!
In the past year the economy, the hobby whichever it may be has stunted the growth of our flowering SB store.
In talking with Nick about it over the past year I completely understand, when you go to your store and nobody comes all day long you wonder why the heck am I here when I could be so much more productive or at least be earning money with less the hassle and expense?
I will miss this store very much, luckily she isn't going very far and as for keeping in touch we do that regardless.
I know this is a good step in the right direction for the overall in her life.
I'm so proud of her for having the courage to take this leap and do what she has to do. Its scary and exhiliarating all at the same time and there is no doubt in my mind she can do this bigger and better than anyone else I know.
Congrats Nick! I cannot wait to hear about your first day on the new job.....you'll knock em' dead!

Blog Block
So I've had a little bloggers block lately and had no idea what I wanted to say, imagine that? Nothing to say, me! Yeah I shocked myself to say the least.
The past couple of weeks have been a roller coaster of LIFE itself.
Remember the game LIFE? You started out with an empty station wagon and along the way you acquired a husband or wife (pink or blue peg) then you accumulated and lost funds, jobs and added children to the mix?
Didn't seem so bad did it?
How about in todays game of LIFE, what would today's game be like?
You would start out with an Honda Civic
Go to college
Stay single
Hit the bars
Get a job
Sleep around (play the field)
Hook up/break up several times
Go to Rehab
Have a baby or two
Get hitched
Buy a corvette
Lose your job
File for chapter 11
Start up your own internet business
Buy a Million Dollar home (that you cannot afford)
File for chapter 11 (yet again)
Buy a subaru
Have more kids
Buy RRSP's, RESP's
Lose your shirt in the stock market
Buy gas for your car and die.
Yep that would just about sum up the "new" game of Life....what would you add to the game of Life?
