So I've recently been set up to start Allergy shots! Great!
I am one of those people now.......
One of those people that when there is a potluck or work training session and they ask "are there any allergies" we need to be aware of I am "one of those" people who have to respond and people have to work the menu around me or I get to have a completely different menu.
I use to hate setting up meetings and such for these very people and now I'm one of them.
Darn it.
Talk about screwing people up, my food issue is not an allergy per say but an intollerance, so much so that if I have dairy products I am on the floor in pain so yes I cannot have cheese, milk, ice cream (such a killer).....
Tell me how many foods have dairy in them? How many foods are made with cheese alone?
A lot!
My allergy shots are for trees, pollen, dust mites, cat fur, cat pelt, and about 5 other items that are so miniscule you would just shake your head but let me tell you when I run into them they bring me down, way down.
My doctor says these shots are going to change all of that and boy do I hope so, I'm tired of itchy eyes, stuffed nose and feeling terrible.
Apparently that is why I've had sinusitus for 20 years. Go figure! Thanks for letting me know - finally!
Boy I can't wait to have those shots, did I mention I hate needles and when this starts I need to go for 22 weeks straight once per week for a shot, then it will lessen after that but oh great! Yeah me!

Manic Monday
Remember that song by the Bangles, I loved that song, it was on the radio this morning and I can't help but want to sing along. DD said "what is this song mama"......
Oh baby its such a fun and true song......Manic Monday is just that get up and go to work or school and it means the weekend is over.
I love weekends Mama!
I do to baby, I do to!

Fridays
I love Friday, it is one of my favourite days of the week, ahead of Saturday even.
Friday night is best of all. Although due to my busy schedule on Saturday & Sunday my Friday night is a bit tight.
Groceries, and all other pick ups need to be done tonight!
Its a pain in the arse but it has to be done if I want the rest of the weekend to go smooth.
Sunday is a total write off day. DD will be going on her first hike with her Sparks troop and she is so excited, although they are calling for Hurricane Kyle (I think) to hit and it will be pouring she is fine with that, a hike in the woods it is, roasting marshmellows at Brown Owl's camp and singing songs.
She asked me if I wanted to go on Sunday, parents are invited as well......honestly NO I don't want to go, will I go, hmmm haven't decided yet but I'm sure you can figure out I'm not thrilled on the thought of hiking through the woods on a rainy day.
I guess I will wait and see if she brings it up again? Maybe yes? Maybe No?

I wish I were an Etch-A-Sketch
If I were an Etch-A-Sketch, I would be able to shake my head to forget and/or erase.....
My name
My day at work
This week
My wardrobe
What I've said
What I've done
Showing Emotions
Getting upset
Freaking Right O-U-T
Answering that phone at all
Picturing Lindsay Lohan and her new love interest
The fact that I said something very rude this morning before I left the house
That I woke up on my side of the bed but it didn't seem to be the right side?
Getting on the scales this week
For agreeing to my schedule for the weekend - UGH!
Britney Spears
My to-do list
That I watched that stupid show last night
What I just saw in the office next to me
The person who was just in my office
and the invoices sitting on my desk right now.
What would you Etch-A-Sketch away?

Another Day Another Dollar Down
Last week while driving into work I noticed a small chip in our windshield, I said "we should get that fixed right away", DH says "no wait it may never go any where", I said "uh huh yeah sure Einstein, you said that the last time".
Yesterday, as we were getting to school DD says "Hey look at the windshield mama", as you know I was totally out to lunch yesterday morning and its a wonder I even was dressed yesterday from head to toe!
A HUGE crack straight up the centre of the windshield, from what you ask? From the damn "chip" that DH said "probably won't go anywhere anyway".....yeah you dumb ass!
So I say "hey! We did this last year and I bought insurance when I did it", so I look it up and call Speedy to inquire, they guy says "that was for chips in the windshield, you should have called us last week and it would have been FREE! ha, ha"..
Yeah, ha, F'in HA! I'm thinking..........so I repeat buddies comment "would have been FREE huh, if only we'd called LAST WEEK! Yes but your not married to my dumb ass husband who said it probably wouldn't GO ANYWHERE!"
Speedy guy says "yep and I'm lucky to not be him right now aren't I? He's right beside you isn't he?"
Yep your correct!
So they picked it up and took it away by lunch time they delivered it back, nothing $20 didn't fix, but let me just REMIND you all.............
LAST WEEK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Mondays
Are always hard, hard to get up, hard to get going, hard to deal with, just hard.
Come to think of it Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are something like that too.
This morning I was awake before the alarm went off, since I slept in yesterday AND had an afternoon nap I was well rested. Mind you those seem to be the hardest days of all. For whatever reason the morning routine fell apart, time was not on my side. It was 7:19 before I knew it and we were off to the races!
I do not recall the drive in one little bit (I wasn't driving either so you can rest assure). I don't remember sitting in traffic, the weather report went right past me, my DD in the back seat singing at the top of her lungs, nope didn't hear that either....Where was I? Not one clue, I'm not even sure I was thinking at all.
My thought process is totally null and void today.
I know that I have my newly put together page kits on my mind, I so want to go home tonight and put one together but OMG the minute I think of that my heart begins to race, the other things that have to get tonight are so much higher on the priority list.....eek!
So I am doubtful that scrapbooking will happen but I am certain that supper time, homework time, reading, lunches and bath time will come no matter what!
So I've decided my only goal for tonight will be either spend 30 mins on Wii Fit or go for a 20 minute brisk walk.
Fingers crossed one of these items will really, really happen :o)
Happy Monday All! I know I'm not alone on this HARD day!

Difference
I am shocked at the difference in my daughter, she has shocked me to pieces.
Last year this child refused to read, write or do anything associated with homework, sounding out a word was a terrible task and would cause her to hit the floor and flail. Too bad for her when mom & dad walked away and she ended up having to do the damn work in the end and sometimes twice in order to teach her lesson, or did it?
There were times last year that I didn't think this child would ever enjoy reading, writing and literacy. oh Boy!
This year, we have a whole new little girl, this child loves, loves, loves homework. Teachers send all the homework home for the week, doesn't matter how or when you do it but it is due on Fridays. Last night my kid, who amazes me all the time wanted to do it all, all of it, then she said "I can't wait to do more tomorrow night mom".
"huh what did you do with my child that hated homework, where'd she go, please don't return her because this one is awesome!".....
I have to admit I am so proud of my daughter, she is so smart, do you know she loves math and science? Whats up with that? That little nerd loves math? Geez....Kudos to her that this stuff comes easy, it never did for me, and that is why when it comes to math homework its not my job because Hubby has already stipulated I am NOT allowed to help her with adding 2+2 and you know what, I'm fine with that.

Smooth
This is a note for the guy behind me on Main Street this morning who decided to primp on his way to work this morning all the while riding my ass.
This sales man decided to shave his face the entire time we sat in traffic, all the time jolting forward as he paused from his electric shaver to move ahead after people honked their horns.
A sales man you ask? How do I know?
He had a used car with the sign in the front window 2005 $6,700. I do not know the company but he was a salesman, hell he could be the owner but why would you choose to drive in the 2005, you sell nothing newer?
At one point I was ready to jump out go back and shove the electric shaver down his f'ing throat, if he had of rear-ended me he would have had his throat slit with a dull electric shaver before the cops arrived!
Don't be f'in shaving while driving in traffic, they talk about cell phones but applying mascara, eyeliner or shaving have got to be WAY worse? Idiot!

Blows!
You know when you’ve got that “should’ve known better” line?
Yeah I should have known better but I didn’t, I never do, I never learn, but in my defense who cares.
Is anyone keeping up on the US Election? What do you think of Governor Phalin? She is the one from Alaska who Senator Johnny Mac (as Rosie lovingly refers to him as) we call him John McCain, has chosen as his running mate.
First I am happy a woman was chosen, Obama should have done the same but whatever! I guess?
Phalin has a 4 mth old downs syndrome baby, her 17 year old daughter is 5 mths pregnant, she has 5 children in total.
The press has said “how is she going to help run the country and have her 5 children?”. First she has a child headed to Iraq so I’m going to assume he’s probably self sufficient? The other children are older you dumb ass!
People are judging her based on the fact she is a WOMAN with CHILDREN. Oh my god no!
Why is it when a woman runs for a high power position it is questioned how she would run it but when a man takes over there is no question on his capabilities? Even though he too ends up screwing everything up?
That Blows Man! No doubt its still a man’s world but let me tell you this……
Women can run the country, birth 5 children, have a husband and still run the country very well thank you, lets’ not forget Women can multi-task and men cannot so I say to those who question a woman’s ability – FU Buddy!

New Year, New Rules
Lets just say that once you pass the threshold of Kindergarten your on your own after that.
This morning was nothing like last year at all. We ended up on the playground, not going straight to the classroom which doesn't make much sense to me, we arrived early and was 40 minutes before we left because we stood around and waited, and waited. I have no idea what the thought process was but it was chaotic to say the least.
My baby girl was up before we were, bouncing in her room, had her bed made before we woke up then came in and jumped on us, ate breakfast and then we got there, she was behind us hiding. She said "awful lot of kids here", I laughed and said "yep its a school honey".
I now sit here thinking, what is she doing? Has she made new friends? Is she scared? Alone? Happy? Sad? Hurt?
I know I sound foolish to some but these are the thoughts going through my head at this moment.
I love her so very much and when she goes through something new I get all antsy and nervous while my husband says "stop it, she'll be fine, stop worrying"...yes I'll stop worrying as soon as pigs begin to fly there Mr. StoneFace! Give me a break will ya, I'm her mom and I only want the very absolute bestest for my girl.
On another note, my friend is headed to Saint John today for a biopsy and to have a shunt put in, she won't be able to keep contact with everyone so Julie is my ears for the next few days. I predict the surgury will not be until sometime tomorrow and I ask everyone to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
