Up and At em....

It is before 7 am and I am awake....I really do not know why but story of my life.

I've been surfing around on my new hi-speed internet, I now have a big ass satelite on my roof that I'm sure will beam me up if I put in the right IP address but hey its all good until that time comes?

On my drive home last night there were signs stating the bridge past my house would be closed....closed? Completely? For repairs. I knew they were going to repair it but closing it like all of it? Um some of the locals are getting nervous....what about the kids who go to school? The buses? The snow plow? The woman who owns the local store up the road lives just on the other side of that bridge? Can't wait til Monday, that will be interesting. If they do close it, my DD will not be attending Brownies, the drive that used to be 15 minutes will now be 1 hour +.

I hope we are all wrong but the signs do say road closure......

As I look out my window I can finally see the road. On Monday we had a "snow bomb" and there was so much that I could not see out my front windows, they were completely covered.

Its currently raining and my driveway is a skating rink.....should be interesting for the next few days......

I am glad today is Saturday - its get my taxes done day! Take DD to a movie day! Relax day! Have a nap day! See my parents day! and try to get some house work done day!

Yeah busy day.......but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

I had a terrible crazy week at work, so much so that one day when I left I thought to myself, what are you doing here? I've been in this position for 3 years and that is the absolute first time I've ever thought that...........sad I know...

Thought for day.......By thinking positive will help you BE positive

Dear F'ton Drivers

I would like to say with complete certainty, you are all idiots.

Not that I am superior to you every single day, I do know you are lacking in many skills that deal with driving around our city streets.

Lets work on just one for today.

hmmm, lets see, the skill you most SUCK at today is MERGING into traffic.

Merging means: to combine, blend, or unite gradually so as to blur the individuality or individual identity of: They voted to merge the two branch offices into a single unit.

Do you see the word STOP in there? I do not....funny y'all seem to think to merge means to stop abruptly and twist your head and look around for on-coming traffic when it really means, begin tilting your head over your should about 100 ft before you have to actaully slowly move into traffic - what a funny concept.

When merging it is helpful to take those quick looks before you get there so you can either speed up or slow down as to actually deploy the "gradual" part successfully.

I know I was shocked to learn this. So was the twit arse woman ahead of me today when I beeped my horn when she completely stopped and proceeded to sit there so she could dart across 3 lanes at once.

See theres your problem lady....gradually means start in one lane, the one you have room to drive slowly in, and "gradually" move into the other lanes - gradually I said. That darting into traffice thing and making others stop right up is getting tired and old.

So if you get beeped at it might be me, my hubby will be hiding with his head ducked as to not be too embarrassed when I actually roll my window down and calmly explain your idiotcy to your face!!!

What Type of Friend Am I?

Your Friendship Style is Empathetic
You deeply care about each person you're friends with. For you, friendship is all about the personal connection.
You tend to know everything about your friends' lives... and they know everything about yours. Your friends are your confidants.

You are always there for your friends. You celebrate their successes and support them in their times of need.
You are as loyal as they come. And you expect the same loyalty and understanding from your friends in return.

You and another Empathetic Friend: Have a amazing friendship, when it works. You care for each other deeply, but you often end up with hurt feelings and drama.

You and a Gregarious Friend: May have a bit of a one sided friendship. You adore your Social Friend, but you sometimes feel a bit neglected.

You and an Independent Friend: Struggle a bit. You are very interested in your Independent Friend's life, but your friend often needs more space.

You and a Philosophical Friend: Respect one another. You love to learn about your Philosophical Friend's brilliant ideas.

Frustrated

I know we live in NB and I know it snows but really haven't we had enough?

The flooding this spring will bring is already in the back of my mind.......oye!

But back to today, this week.

Who hates idiot drivers - raise your hands.

I knew it, I was not the only one who thinks many people on our roads don't have a clue.

Yesterday I left work around 2pm to get myself and my DD home to avoid heavy traffic in the bad storm, although I was not lucky enough to avoid everyone. No siree. Regardless of what time your on the road you can be certain there will be idiots on your path.

I know the storm was bad, the roads were barely plowed, the ones that were had big drifts in them and that is no time to have a scardey cat on the road. As I was just leaving the city limits I caught up to this person (I'm not sure of male or female but a person) who was in a blue sun fire driving maybe 15 km/h who was jumping all over the place. Now I am not sure of their driving skills, let alone their tires, vehicle mechanics BUT when you are going so slow that you cause yourself to go side to side and as a result cause me to slide sideways I have a problem.

That is why when I did pass you I had my passenger window down and that is why I was telling you off and flipping you the bird but alas you couldn't see me because you DIDN'T CLEAN YOUR GODDAMN WINDOWS OFF!

Idiot!

Heavy Eyes

Tiredness; Weariness; Exhaustion; Lethargy
Fatigue is a feeling of weariness, tiredness, or lack of energy.

*****************

Still sick but I haven't taken any meds since this morning and that has to be a good sign right?

I am feeling better but a nap would do me a world of good right now.....I am counting the minutes til I can go home and lay on the couch.

Wish me luck in the endeavour.

I'm just going to...

Whine.

Just a little bit, not a lot, well ok a lot.....

I have a sore throat, it started Saturday night and is getting progressively worse, I don't want strep throat, its not bad enough to go to the doctor, he won't give me a perscription just yet, I'm fighting it very hard.

Because of my sore throat I can't get my allergy shot tomorrow.

I am very tired, my body is fighting hard.

I have been snacking rather than eating.

I just had a Subway sub and the bread was hard as if it was left out all night on the counter, really gross.

I complained to Subway about it and they are sending me coupons.

I am drinking ginger ale because it makes me feel better

3 Advil make me feel better too

I love cherry halls

Crispy Minis - BBQ have become my fav chip in the past 2 weeks

I am really tired

I wanted to go to a movie tomorrow night but I can't now, DH is away working - again.

I want to read another good book

I love my new blue ink pen.

Why are some people so dense and then wonder why your upset or have raised your voice to them? I raise my voice when your stupid, I also talk slower for you too.

I have co-workers who now warn other co-workers to not ask dumb questions to me, think about the answer (or what it might be) before you ask me......yes you will probably know the answer to it.

Brown is my new fav color

I've been measuring luggage lately. I think I'm going to buy myself a new pretty peice of rolley luggage.

I just bought new sneakers and I love them, Adidas all the way baby.

I can't believe it keeps snowing on and off every day. I'm sick of it.

My DD is so funny, last night she told me about a kid in her class whose mommy is pregnant and she hopes its a boy so she can kick him when he grows up.

you MUST stop

yes that is what came out of my mouth while driving up York Street this morning while the dip shit woman on Victoria Street tried to make a break for it in one continuous swoop.

That bright red octagon on that stick thing that has the letters S-T-O-P is for you.

It says S T O P! Yep it does, you must stop your vroom, vroom when you come to the end of the street you are on. I know its a funny concept when most Freddy Beach drivers don't even know how to merge because they stop at a merge and merge at a stop...go figure?

So tomorrow if you try that stunt again I may just stop in front of you, count to 10 and then proceed so you get the point!

dip shit!

Happy Valentines Day

Look at what we had for breakfast today! Thanks to my most favourite cook/baker in the whole world (Jay). She totally rocks da house.
Our little sweet treat had DD saying "tell her this is INSANELY delicious".
Hows that for compliments Jay? I think DD summed it up best, that was THE most delicious brownie I've ever eaten. She even asked if I'd get the recipe and I said "nah she'll make them again"......LOL

DD opened up her gifts and her Island God Mother / God Family gave her these dangly earrings that made her squeal. She calmed down and was able to wait til this morning to put them in. Among her other goodies Grammy and Auntie bought her a mix n' match outfit set, a pretty teddy bear and some chocolate.
We only gave her a card and a tiny heart of Lindor. She doesn't know it yet but I'm taking her today to shop for an outfit that she can try on.
Happy V-day to each and every one of you.

Friday 13th

I have been at work for 2 hours and 5 people have remarked that it is Friday the 13th.

Are you superstitious? I am not.

My mom is very superstitious. We had a black cat for year and mom would always freak out when he walked directly in front of her. She never walked under a ladder, although that was probably a good safety strategy as well?

Broken mirrors would make my mother upset for days. Her sisters are the same way.

Why do people get upset over these little doings?

Heck if I didn’t have bad luck I’d have no luck at all.

Not Getting It

I totally don't get WHY the hell do the employees of the Abortion Clinic stand outside when someone has an appointment?

Why, Why, Why

You are out of place standing there in your "Clinic Staff" smock?

For a place trying to NOT stand out having your employees stand is telling everyone 'someone' is coming.

If anyone can explain why this happens I would greatly appreciate the reasoning behind this.

Otherwise someone please give them a neon sign that says HEY LOOK HERE, SOME WOMAN IS COMING HERE TODAY TO REMOVE AN UNWANTED PREGNANCY BUT PLEASE DON'T SAY OR DO ANYTHING THAT WILL OFFEND HER - THATS WHY WE ARE STANDING HERE AT THE FRONT DOOR IN OUR BRIGHT BLUE SMOCKS

I am not here to discuss my beliefs on abortion all I want to know is why the hell are the staff standing outside of the clinic when someone has an appointment?

Good Grief!

Cold

Cold weather is no fun. Pumping gas in cold weather is no fun, that is why I asked my husband to do it yesterday but this morning when I climbed into my car the gas gauge was pointing toward the "E", hmmmm, I'm sure I had asked him? Whats up with that?
I call him later on in the morning to ensure I'm not losing my head and he said "oh yeah right, well when you asked me to go to mom's to get the newspaper that was when I was going to go and you distracted me so I forgot".
I distracted you so you forgot? Right.......point to me first then with the big finish that you forgot, but lets not forget it was due to me asking you to complete more tasks that you anticipated....ah yes, I completely understand.
Gee, if I'd known you were going to wait until dark to even consider gasing up I would have it done at NOON when I'd asked you to do it!
Good Grief Man! You had 6 hours between the time I asked and when you "were" going to do it and forgot because I'd asked you to do something ELSE!
Is it really me or he is very good at laying blame on others to deflect it off of himself? Tell me the truth now.........

Like OMG, what?

I just witnessed an accident at the grocery store.

A car was backing out of their parking spot and backed right into another car that was trying to drive away but because this twit decided not to look and just back out of HER spot the other one had to stop.

So the lady waiting for the twit to back out starts honking her horn like 5 times...BANG....lady backs right into her, the hands (both) go up and the woman who backed into the other one drives forward and the lady who got hit............

DROVE AWAY

She drove away........

What is she hiding, maybe she doesn't have a license or insurance? I wonder because there was damage to her bumper. Someone who gets hit isn't the one running away - usually.

That explains it doesn't it?

I received a call from my brother last evening he says "Question?" I say "maybe an answer" (because a convo started like that well one would never know).

Him: "Mom & Dad will be having their 50th wedding anniversary this year"

Me: Um yeah - hun that was last September, they actually signed the papers before you came along (he turns 50 this year)

Him: it was? How come you didn't have a party for them?

Me: well its like this, whats worse me taking them out to dinner or you just remembering now?

Him: well you always plan stuff

Me: yep and nobody else cares too nor do they wish to pay for it so no I didn't plan anything, it would mean I'd have to speak to certain siblings who I care not to.

Him: he says you really aren't going to speak them again?

Me: not if I don't have to

Him: well you should have done something for mom and dad

Me: your their kid to, the oldest to be exact!

rushy, rushy...away from the dentist

I am thankful for the month of January to have gone by rather quickly but the reason for it is because I was going full tilt every day.

I love it when time flies but I don't remember most of last month. Do this, do that, go here, go there, no do this, then do this.......oh my!!!

I think I was living La Vida Loca!

I certainly hope Febraury will be a little less fast paced, although waiting for Thursday to come has my knickers in a knot. I am going to the dentist. I did not visit the dentist for myself once last year, actaully its been 18 mths. I know I am terrible but I have good reason not to. 18 mths ago I went through a terrible scenario where one tooth had to come out, it took a lot of drugs and 2 dentist. Not a pretty site. So I got scared and the thought of the dentist makes me hyper-ventilate. My heart is racing right now just typing this.

Some have suggested to change dentist, it wasn't the dentist fault it just happened - a total fluke.

I used to visit the Wade Bros. as a child and after a bad fiasco when I was 15 it took me 10 years to get back to a dentist. Since my parents could not afford braces they wanted to pull 4 teeth in hopes that would straighten them...my parents agreed to have it done and I said NO WAY IN HELL......I'll take my jumbled up front teeth thank you very much....

I need to have my teeth cleaned, I use to like having my teeth cleaned but the thought of laying on that chair and opening my mouth scares the heck out of me, I feel all gaggy just thinking about it. Maybe I should have got some vallium? I am pretty scared. I swear to god if he says I need work I'll poke him. I know I can't manage that.

*sigh*

Days like these...

We all know Monday's suck as it is but I really hate days like these when I feel like I'm in this all by myself.

I know, I know most of you will say "but your not"....but I am. I am NOT a single parent but there are many, many, many days I feel like I am when it comes to "our" daughter.

For instance......my Monday is something like this...

Leave at 7:15 am, arrive 5 mins early at school so I can walk her in and we can fish through the lost and found boxes (yes plural) for snow pants that did not come home on Friday. No pants that belong to us.....lets go check on the hook.....nope not there either. So.....the last place they were seen was the Indoor Pool Friday after school, but I called the pool - 3 times to be exact this weekend, waiting 10 minutes each time for the students to look - nope no pants.

So I leave the school this morning at 8am sending my daughter outside with splash pants on - I know I'm a terrible mother but I can't put tights on her because its gym day, I'm already in trouble for putting jeans on her but her comfy pants would have made her cold faster?

I leave there to go to the indoor pool that does NOT open til 8:30am, ok so wasted trip - whats new?

I get to work - late of course. I do some work at this point.

Call the pool at 9am and talk to the adult who works during the day hours and she is gone for 3 minutes because the detail I gave her allowed her to find them rather quickly. We all know students and instructions always leave something to be desired, right?

She found them!! Yes!!

So I leave work to get to the pool and drop them off at school before recess, I just can't have her out there in the snow without warmer pants. All the while I'm shaking my head wondering why I second guessed my child for telling me exactly where these pants were - I actually believed those students at the pool....what a fool I am.....geez!

I get to school, interupt class, call her out and give her a hi-5 for being so smart and right on for mama finding them. Woo hoo!

I run back to work , try to play catch up.

Work through my lunch today because why? Well its Monday. That means Irish Dance day, because some mothers don't work the studio decided 4pm would be an excellent time to have dance class for little girls.....yes 4. When I worked it out with my boss I was ensured by my ever helpful husband that there would be Mondays he could so pick up the slack and get her for me....that hasn't happened yet and we started this in September?

So he calls me and says....."um because we didn't get groceries on Saturday can you go get them while daugther is dancing", I say "sure, would love to, I have nothing else I could be doing like socializing, decompressing from my already eventful day - um no I'd love to go get the family food for the week - would LOVE to!"

Yes its already been a lovely day of running around and trying to do my job that I get paid for but in his snotty voice he has the balls to say "I have to work you know?".

Ah yes you do have to work but as I recall my going back to work also puts food on the family table and in the families belly. But alas this silly maiden forgot that the man is that much more important than I.

How shall I ever live with myself? Smother him, I know ladies........I know.
