Murphy's at it Again!

Why is it that my motto has always been 3 steps forward and 2 steps back?

When things start to go right or semi-ok bombs start going off everywhere? My co-workers ask me why I'm so jumpy all the time? Well here's the deal.....if its not one thing its another.

Just when my home life starts to pick up my outside home life goes all wonky, or my work life loses control and to top it all off my family will stick it to me when they can and as they like......*sigh*

Well my home life has improved recently (somewhat) and now my work life gets tougher and tougher. It takes one person to cause a shit storm and the ripple effect takes hold......I shake my head......My nose is clean.......they can do as they like but this bitch chick told how it was, now they can go deal with it themselves and sulk in the corner!

I'm always in "protect mode" all the time.....

Murphy hates me, I'm convinced of it.

I bought one Christmas gift last week - yeah me.......no wait I bought 3 gifts last week....2 were for my Secret Santa.......hee hee....

I love my 2 new pairs of shoes, even on the first day they feel great!

I laugh every time someone hears my "phone voice" and gets all flustered....(I've been told I have a sex phone type voice)....go figure...I got one thing going for me?

Its 5:27 am

Good Gawd let me sleep, I'm tired but damn it here I sit. Sirens woke me up at 4am and I tossed and turned for about 45 minutes then finally realized it wasn't going to happen.....me going back to sleep.

So here I sit at this ungodly hour.......DD will be up in about 1 hour and my day is filled with running around...I know Sunday you say but yes it is. No day of rest for me this weekend.

My ultimate weekend is to be in no rush at all in the mornings and stay in my PJ's until about 11am, I like events that are planned for well after the noon hour. Although those early birds get the worm, they also get no sleep! Dang!

I hear the cat beating his head on the door wanting up, we lock him down there at night and he hears me up here......what a PITA he is.....grrrr! If he wakes anyone else up I'll thump his furry ass!

So I think I've surfed the net as much as I can and I might go lay on the couch, I can usually drift back off to sleep while laying there.......

My body is tired but my mind is awake......I don't think my brain received the Sleep all Nite memo?

I don't understand?

This morning I had this crazy convo with my daughter about Christmas.....

It started out we were discussing her allowance and how well she has been doing saving her money and not blowing on nothing......

She comes back with ......."well I want to buy the puppy at Zellers that pee's and has a leash".

I say "really, you want another dog, why would you waste your money on that?"

She says "its my money mom and I want that toy".

I say "you know Christmas is coming, what are you going to ask Santa for?"

She says "I don't want anything for Christmas, I'm not writing a note to Santa"

I say "So why did you ask Auntie for 3 things"

She said "well thats all I want, I don't want anything else"

I say "and this pee'ing dog?"

She did not respond for a minute and said "so I'm not getting the dog am I? (rolling her yes no less)

I was beside myself.......

So my 6 year old girl does not want to write to Santa nor make a list, she isn't a toy playing person, only sometimes...and now she wants nothing....

Am I over-reacting? What do I do? I can't believe this child is really mine?

History goes POOF up in smoke.....

What a sad day it was yesterday to discover that a piece of New Brunswicks History went up in smoke on Friday night.

A covered bridge in the Stoneridge, NB area, a place where I grew up and drove through this covered bridge too many times to even count. As a kid my parents went on the "Sunday Drive" and when we came to the bridge dad would say "are you ready" and he'd speed through honking the horn the whole way through....it is a strong childhood memory for me.

My name was carved into the walls of that bridge, along with every other teenager who ever grew up in that area.......if those walls could talk!

It was vandalism, a terrible thing that everyone encounters and it happens so frequent these days.

There are suspects in the case already.....coming from a small community - people talk and they talk a lot.

The community is outraged and its been said when the names come out the community is going to take matters into their own hands, I have no doubt that this will happen...

A very sad day in NB History, although I do not know the exact number but covered bridges in New Brunswick are becoming more and more rare due to vandalism. This is a transportation issue, the buses, the mail carriers.......their entire routes will change on Tuesday, what a tragedy for everyone. Such a loss.

If you keep your mouth shut and not say what you want to say, wouldn't that be ok sometimes?

Keeping your thoughts, just that "your thoughts" sometimes might be much better?

Leaving things unsaid sometimes is best, BUT there are instances when spilling it would have taken you much further.....so whats up with that?

Today I went to a local pet store and there was a customer in there who should have owned the place really....she was answering everyone's questions, standing in the middle of the store......she interupted the actual "workers" in the stinkin' store? WTF?

So I'm talking to the fish manager when she comes over and says "what seems to be the problem?" I say nothing at all just talking to the employee and the manager said "I can help you in a minute ma'am"......

She says "oh no I'm here to help customers"........so she starts spewing shit (I think she'd lost her mind, the poor wing nut) and she was talking about animals but it was so unintelligent that I couldn't tell you the phyco-babble she was saying......again....quite the wing nut.

Which brought me to first part of my blog......I say WTF? Can you say "Whack-A-Doodle"?

Come on people grow a brain and think, use the mush in your head and be intelligent....for god sakes where were you the day God handed out common sense? Near the back I'm guessing?

She was so loud and obnoxious and just plain out there.......not sure how long she'd been there but when I left 2 employee's were discussing something with her? Maybe she'd been done wrong?

Although I have a womping headache.....I think I need more chocolate?

It has not been a good day, it started off rotten and it is going to end rotten........

But tomorrow is payday....things are looking up!

So last week my DD and DH were sitting at the kitchen table working on her homework, she was reading.......the English language can be quite difficult when you try to teach a child the ins and outs of the words and their sounds.

I'm in the office on the computer and I hear her say "a-a-a-a-a I can't say that word", DH says "yes you can, sound it out a-a-a-a-a".

She says "Daddy I can't say that word", DH asks "why not, just sound it out, say the word".

I begin to snicker because the sentence is making sense to me and I say "Guys the "S" sounds like a "Z" for that word"

DD says "a-a-a-a-a-a-"s""s"s" {in a z sound} and she yells AS, the word is is AS


Yes the word is AS not ASS, ASS has 2 "s's".......

Daddy begins to laugh, he just got it!

Panty Life

How long do you keep your panties? When do they get old to you?

This morning I had to throw out 2 pairs and in my world 2 pairs is a lot, I now need to open my new pack :o)

What did it for me was when I was brushing my teeth and they went roll, roll, roll down over my belly and almost fell off, why wear them then? Geesh! I had to run in and change them, what a terrible feeling to have them rolling downward.

The next pair did the same thing as soon as I stood up, what the ......?

Yep the newbies fit much better they still have elastic in them :o)

Just call me an M&M

Did you know I have a hard shell surrounding me? Did you? Yeah you probably already did, but let me tell you something shocking......I didn't....not to the extent that I've been informed it is?

I brushed it off before to me just being me.

Well recently I've had a professional explain it to me, a professional broke it down for me.

Did you know that the reason people come to me (my family) for help and assistance and guidance is because I can be trusted to get it done?

Did you know the reason I am signed up for just about everything going and involved in so many things is because people know I can get the job done?

Did you know that the reason people ask me questions is because I am going to tell them the truth?

The reason I am the "go to girl" on every front is because I have the ability to Get R Done no matter at what cost it is to me?

Did you know that?

Well I did not. Why is this? Because of my family dynamics....who would have thought?

Basically I am the one person that when asked to do something (no matter that is) I will make sure it gets done and done well. This is why my parents know they can ask me to do anything or ask my opinion and I will tell them exactly like it is. This is why I have a family member call me when he needs bailed out of jail at 3am in the stinkin' morning! Because he knows I'll come for him.

But little do they know........I am basically an M&M candy....hard candy coated shell on the outside that won't melt in your hands and nothing but chocolate mush on the inside. You ask DH, I am so indecisive and have no clue what to really do, I get sick to my stomach, headaches, freak out, throw up when put in a decision making role. I'm nervous and have no absolute idea what the heck to do, I do my best and luckily I'm usually ok.......but if it blows up then I take complete responsibility and feel sick to my stomach, throw up and headache afterward because it was my fault it was all a mess........

Its a double edge sword to say the least.

I have been informed that people have absolutely NO idea that I cannot handle it because I don't let them know it. Even when I say "I don't know if I can do it" they brush me off and say "sure you can"......Apparently nobody has any clue I'm really like that because they don't see it. I did not know this....this is news to me.

I am hardest on myself, I end up losing out because of my turtle shell. I don't like to say no but a person can only do so much and thanks to my DH he makes me say no.

Bite My Dust

You know that song "Another One Bites the Dust"

I just heard it on the radio and it jogged my memory.....

This past weekend my DD and I are driving and this comes on and I start to sing it, she says "what does that song mean Mama", who bites dust?

So I take a big long sigh and say "well its a play on words....they like to play this song at wedding dances for the guys.......when men and women get married they like to tease the man about now he's tied down and the ol' ball and chain, its just people being funny, so they play this song that another one has bit the dust so to speak....I know this doesn't make sense right now but someday you'll say "oh ok"".......

How's that?
