People really do suck don't they? How rude, ignorant, idiodic can people be? Then they are all allowed to go out and pro-create, just like that.
Snap! Kids, you idiots should never be allowed to teach kids anything.
Sunday night this happened and I am still pissed off!
For those of you who have never volunteered, you have no idea what kind of time it takes away from me nor what is involved to make anything successful by, it takes up my time, energy and lots of stress!
Sunday night we had a game, it was a fabulous game. After every home game and practice we have treats that are supplied by the local businesses or parents such as popsicles, freezies, fudgcicles, etc.......
We had a parent donate a full box of XL Mr. Freezes, 70 of them, we cut them in half for the kids, they are now all gone and we are going to move onto popsicles, by the way, my freezer if full of treats for the kids and I can't put my own food in my f'in freezer, but who really cares right?
So Sunday night my DH was packing up equipment, crouched down on the ground when a kid and parent walk past and must not of haven seen him, do you know what they said? You are never going to guess.......they said:
"all that work for half a freezie"
DH turned around but all the parents and kids were standing there so he isn't sure who it was, I was livid when we got home and he told all of us coaches what was said.
It was a mother who said it.
You ungrateful bastards! If it weren't for the kids I'd totally not be doing this, other teams don't do that, when I was a kid you paid your money for the coach to teach you how to play ball not to babysit your kids and give them treats!
I'm still pissed.
The phone calls to coaches and businesses, ordering trophies and ball cards, planning and doing line ups, practices, etc......really????
PHUCK!
Please someone make me feel better!

Wow. That is simply awful...what an example to set for a child. If my child said that to me, she would have received and earful. If you're in it for the treat then you're there for the wrong reason. It's sad.
Once again, I feel the need to point out "There are dumb asses amongst us!"
it wasn't the child who said that, it was the PARENT! Some mother said it.
It is very sad. It is so rude and disrespectful.
I am just trying to make it more fun and they are calling it down. How cruel, those children will never strive for more with parents having those values.
I feel bad for that mom because she has missed the whole point of the game. But Mel - at the end of the day don't let what any mom or dad has to say change your experience with the kids. You obviously love doing this and it shows in the amount of time and effort you put into the time you spend with them. You are helping all those kids be more active by and showing them how fun is it to play ball. That will last the rest of their life. You are setting a positive example for all the parents there. My hope is that the mom will be able to see the real reason her kid loves to play ball from the example that you set. So just have fun with the kids and everything else will fall into place!
